... I wanna start a new account because I hate this username now. Seriously what was I thinking three years ago when I made this... >_>;;

... until summer break! I have a lot of things planned so I'll be busy... @__@

I'm so glad AP tests are finally over (although I probably failed both of them orz). Now I basically have two free classes, which means more time TO DRAW!! mwahahahahahaHA~ Anyways, we were watching this one movie in AP bio and the teacher was like: "Don't you dare fall asleep during the movie. If you want, you can take out a piece of paper and draw if it helps you to concentrate." WTF? How are you supposed to actually be watching the movie if you're staring at a piece of paper in front of you? lol, but of course I chose to draw during the movie (and failed the quiz afterwards, w00t!). Haha... >_>

Well, every summer since 3rd grade I've been keeping a "Summer Journal" in a composition book that is left over from school (you know how you always end up with half the pages of the book blank at the end of the school year? xD ). I'm thinking of typing up my entries here instead of writing them down since it saves time, but there's usually some pretty... interesting stuff in my journals. ;u; What should I doooooo......? D:

Three more weeks until AP testing... I'm still kinda worried about them, but at least I'll be free to do whatever I like afterwards. Mwahaha~

Went to a garage sale earlier today and bought an entire set of Shrinky Dinks paper and materials for a dollar. xD I used up my last set years ago, and I always thought they were pretty expensive (do they even sell them in stores anymore?). Anyways, I have lots of ideas for them, so I'm pretty excited. Mmhmm.

Mrr. I should stop procrastinating and get back to studying. ~_~

Spring break is here, and I'll finally have some free time to do... homework! Woo. Yeah, I seriously need to catch up with studying for my AP exams. Especially for World History, since I kinda gave up on reading the textbook sometime in the middle of last semester hurhur. Thank god for review books. Well, besides all that studying, I'll finally have some free time to draw~~ I'm planning to switch to my new DA account sometime over the break, once I finish a couple more pictures. Hopefully my gallery will be more... presentable now. If you know what I mean. @_@

Nyanya~ so...... lots of stuffs have happened in the past few weeks. So I finally have a pet now to entertain me. They are two goldfish that I volunteered to keep that were used in an AP bio lab that we did... and they are actually my first pets ever, if you don't count the time when I had garden snails as pets (they ended up escaping and devouring my entire phone book, but that's another story...). Ummmmm yeah. Kinda sad, I know. But... goldfishes are entertaining! ...Really!! They... um, eat? Food? And errrr... they swim? Uh. Never mind. Moving on... 8D

I am addicted to Pokemans once again. Thanks to my friend who let me borrow his DS and Pokemon Diamond game (since he already has Pearl). It's kinda sad that I don't have a DS, but I personally like my PSP a lot better. The Nintendo systems for this generation suck. Especially the Wii. But yeah. Anyways, I've been wanting to play the 4th gen Pokemon games for like 2 years now? xD But I've been a fan since first gen and have played a game from every other gen, so I was pretty excited when I finally got to play Diamond~! But yeah, lots of changes and stuff... erm, especially THE PART WHERE YOU CAN RUN INSIDE HOUSES!!!!!11 8D That was a HUGE annoyance in the past Pokemon games, and I was so used to pressing B all the time (don't use Bicycle that often since it makes the game play annoying music), even inside houses and stuff. So I discovered that pretty quickly. Thought that was a glitch at first.

So, my thoughts on the 4th gen games are:
The Poketch is cheap.
Level 1 egg Pokemon are scary.
The Pokemon designers are seriously running out of ideas now (Spiritomb anyone?).
RETURN OF THE NIGHT-ONLY POLICE OFFICER BATTLES!!
Mud is weird.
And Bibarels shouldn't be water types.

I haven't been able to draw any quality art lately, and everything I draw doesn't look right or I notice a lot of mistakes... I think I'm setting my drawing expectations waaaaaaay higher than I can achieve... sigh. I need to stop going on deviantarts so much. =____= I mean, I go there to look for inspiration but I usually leave feeling really disappointed because there are so many good artists there and my pictures never look as good as theirs... >:

Also, I've been thinking of making a sketch dump of all the crap doodles in my schoolwork, but I'm too lazy to scan them all in... and it doesn't help that my camera just broke... >_> neeeee

It's been a while since I updated, but I haven't been on LJ at all for the past few weeks because of schoolwork and stuff.
Well, we just got a new 26" monitor, which is freaking huge. The resolution that I'm using right now is 1920x1200... I think? Kinda hard to find wallpapers and stuff, but I love really high resolutions, mostly because you get more space to work with. It's especially helpful when I'm drawing. xD But now I want a new tablet, nyuu~ It feels so awkward when your screen is five times as big as your tablet... =w=''
Anyways, I've been working on improving my CG style lately. I kinda want to make a new deviantart because my current one is kinda meh, with all those random doodles and stuff. But arrgh, I don't know what I should name it either. I've been thinking the name "QiisNii," but it's kinda weird... I dunno. (Or I should just submit all my new art to my MangaBullet account first...)
Oh wells. I'm currently working on a picture that actually has a background for once. I'm not really happy about how it looks right now, since the colors are kinda funny. And I can never draw clothes right... sigh.

Here are the linearts I drew for an Axis Powers Hetalia button set that I'm planning to make with a friend. They look pretty horrible right now... especially Germany and Japan orz. I'm probably going to redraw them, and I am making more. I just drew a few of the main characters along with some of my favorites. Which countries should I draw next...?

We had a five-day weekend for Thanksgiving break. On Wednesday I went to Julia's house for a party. There were other people there but I didn't know them very well. I played drums on Rock Band most of them time. xD We also played Mario Kart for the Wii. I still dislike the controls for the Wii... I tried playing it with the wheel controller but failed miserably. xD We also went on Neopets for a while... During the middle of the party, Teddy, their hamster, escaped from his cage so we went on a mini mission trying to find him. The party didn't last as long as normal Asian parties, but it was pretty fun, I guess.
On Thursday I didn't do much, actually. Watched the Thanksgiving Day parade, and I almost died laughing on the Rickrolling part.
Went shopping on Friday, and bought socks. And shoes. Also bought Final Fantasy Tactics for my PSP since it was on sale. It's taking up most of my free time now... ~_~
Also bought a wooden mannequin!! You know, the ones that are used for drawing to make different poses. So... yeah. xD It's really bad, actually. It has less bendable joints than my Gundams models. Anyways, it's still pretty useful if I'm stuck on poses and stuff.
Ugh. Need to get back to homework now... D:

Just finished watching the English dub of Gundam 00 that was broadcasted on SciFi channel. I have so many opinions on it so I just had to write them down. x'D I'm aware that there's a discussion post on the comm, but meh, the excitement's already died down. (Darn people who live in eastern parts of the US who got to see it early... >_>)

Anyways... I'll get straight to the point.

Good dubs:
- Lockon <3 (I was probably most comfortable with his voice out of every characters'. It just suits him well, I guess. xD )
- Patrick Colaseur (I usually hate the snobby-sounding voices, but this matches perfectly with Patrick, which makes him all the more annoying. <3 )
- Wang LiuMei (I thought the cute voice suited her and it wasn't too overdone like most of the time when they try to sound too childish. Ughh.)

Ok dubs:
- Alle
- Sumeragi
- Tieria
- Most others I didn't list xD

Bad dubs:
- Haro. Ok. Like. What. The. Fuck. Hearing Haro's voice just makes me want to smash something. It's that bad. How could they do such a thing to my favorite character...? TT^TT I don't even want to think about how annoying his voice will be in the Lockon Lockon episode.
- Setsuna. (I dunno. He sounded kinda dead the whole time. And old. x___x )
- Saji. (He just sounds freaking retarded.)
- Christina. (Her too.)
- That one Human Reform president-whatever dude. He needs to sound more AZN.

Other thoughts: I was totally expecting the Engrish pronunciation of "I have control." It sounds weird in actual English. Also... they changed the pronunciation of other stuff too, such as Patrick's and Tieria's last names. >___<

Well, overall it's not a bad dub. If only they changed Haro's voice.
I also recorded the episodes on videotape so I can watch them again~ The sound was turned on really low since my parents were sleeping (haha), so I didn't catch all the voices. But I guess there's always future episodes. I just hope the voices will improve over time. xD

I've been wanting to draw a lot of stuff recently, but the problem is that I don't actually feel like drawing anything. I'm currently working on an art project for English class (due Friday), a picture of Miku for an art contest (due Sunday), coloring a manga page (which I will probably never finish), a fanart of Kuroshitsuji (since I recently got into the series), and a painting of Canada Geese for the junior duck stamp contest. I also want to start on my shinigami project. And the problem is, since I don't feel like drawing, my pictures turn out looking like poo.

EDIT: Someone just commissioned me, so i guess I'll have to finish that, too. >__<

Speaking of drawing, I'm going to be attending some sort of art event on Saturday. I'm not sure what to call it, but it's basically where students get 90 minutes to work on two assignments, and then show them to art professionals for critiquing. I know one of the people who is going to be there, so I'm pretty excited for the event!

Since I have no idea what to draw nowadays, I decided to make sort of an art project for myself. Something tells me I won't be able to finish this, or that I'll get bored in the middle, but it's worth a try. Anyways...


Shinigami Project

Assignment: To draw various characters from several manga/anime series that are referred to as a "shinigami," or "god of death;" more commonly known as "grim reapers." There should be a minimum of 8 different series, although a single series can have more than one shinigami. Characters must be drawn full body length, with little or minimum background. The final project should be a compilation of all characters.

Materials: Lineart should be drawn either using digital or traditional materials, and color should be applied with a digital medium.

Due date: November 2009 (Yeah, it's a year later cuz I'm slow. And lazy.)

- Death Note: Ryuk, Rem, Gelus, and Sidoh
- Full Moon wo Sagashite: Takuto, Meroko, and Izumi
- Soul Eater: Shinigami-sama

So Im not sure whether I should draw the last two or not, since I haven't really read much of Bleach and I haven't played The World Ends With You.

Hmm... I still need to do a lot of stuff. Planning to enter this contest, but I won't have much time to enter it since I'm too busy this week with schoolwork, and it's due next Sunday. Oh well.

We went to Beaverton today to eat at a buffet and we passed by a Uwajimaya/Kinokuniya store so I decided to stop there. I've been the the Kinokuniya at Seattle a couple of times before, so the one in Beaverton was tiny. They didn't have any Chinese books, so I was sad. I was hoping to buy a couple of manga in Chinese that weren't translated in English yet so I can actually read them. I was also looking for a 2009 calendar to replace my D.Gray-man one, but they didn't have any ones that I liked. I also looked for the December issues of Animage/Animedia/Newtype cuz there were stuff in each one that I wanted. But I only saw the November issues. I did see Cure volume 63, though, which featured Matenrou Opera, one of my favorite bands currently. I wanted it, but I couldn't get it because of numerous reasons (heh).
I didn't get anything at Kinokuniya, so I decided to go to Uwajimaya. I bought a couple bottles of lychee Ramune and my dad bought some sake. I also got a Kuromi mechanical pencil since I needed another one. When it was close to time to leave, I saw a box of Gundam 00 Portrait set 2, which is basically a box containing a random figure. It was kinda expensive, but... it was Gundam 00! xD And I got Graham~~!! *squee* I wanted him the most, next to Secchan probably. So yeah. I went kinda crazy taking pictures of him, as you can probably tell...

I entered the Washington Apple art contest in the Holiday Card category last year and was surprised to see today that it was turned into an actual holiday card. o_0 I received this huge envelope in the mail that had a few printed cards in it. I never actually expected my picture to win, since it's stupid and the colors are too light (so it doesn't really look good on a card). I think my design is the worst out of all the entries. Hurr hurr.

So... Brisinger, the third book in the Inheritance series, comes out in 2 days. I'm also going to volunteer at my local Barne's and Noble's for the book release party on the 19th. Really excited, because I just heard there's going to be an art contest there. I could have thought of that earlier, because the last book release party I volunteered at also had an art section. (I entered and won an oversized t-shirt I could wear as a dress... >_> ) It was the one for Breaking Dawn, by the way. (Breaking Dawn sucked. Seriously. Twilight was the only book out of the series that was actually good.) So I just started drawing a picture to enter for the contest today. It features Saphira and Thorn, and because I don't have enough time, it's going to be drawn completely in pen. Anyways, yeah, I've been waiting for like 2 years for this to come out. It better be good.
My birthday is tomorrow. Yay. I'm turning 15. (I think 15 years is too old... ;__; ) I had set better drawing goals for me to accomplish before I turn 15, and I didn't finish them. = = I could have if I wasn't forced to study the entire summer. Ergh, whatever. I'll just set higher expectations for myself until I turn 16. x__X I'm gonna die... and I'm making myself suffer...
I'm also running out of monnehs. I already got my birthday present (copic markers... I fail at using them...) and I want as of now: Brisinger, DDR X (the new DDR game that just came out), and a couple other PSP games. Wahh.
Er, anyway, that's about it, I guess. I really don't feel like working on the picture, but I want to win again lol. It will be on Deviant when I finish. Yarr.
